Alinea – This modest and altogether nondescript exterior hides one of the world’s (yes I said world’s) most exciting and unique dining experience, in which every avenue of “experience” is explored. And, that experience can take anywhere from 3 – 5 hours long depending on whether dinner is made up of 12 or up to 24 courses. No where else can you have an edible balloon, or experience the Chocolate Drop? At this Three Michelin Star Restaurant, tables average $250 per person, making it definitely a splurge. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are non-refundable (but are transferable).
