You have to visit Little Havana & Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street). This is actually the area where my father grew up and went to high-school, and it has still kept most of the Cuban culture after all these years. As you walk down Calle Ocho in Little Havana you will not only run into hundreds of dollar stores, but you will also see Maximo Gomez Domino Park where many older Cuban men get together throughout the day to play a mean game of dominoes while smoking a cigar. Before you leave this area you also must cross the street from the domino park and eat a Abuela Maria ice cream at Azucar, which is made with Maria cookies and cream cheese and guava pieces.
