Sunshine or Stargazing? This countryside in the city, Hampstead Heath is 320 acres of green space and London’s highest point. In the summer it’s an amazing place for sunbathing and outdoor activities. Swimming in the Ladies’s pond or the Men’s Pond, is not for the faint-of-heart as the water is a chilly 3⁰C. For those who do not want to brave the waters, there are nature hikes, picnics, and sports. Though the light pollution of London doesn’t make for very good viewing conditions, Vale of Heath, a mini-village within the park, is probably one of the best spots in London to stargaze.

Jack Oughton
Jack is a Croydon born writer who spends inordinate amounts of time in London's bars and restaurants. Trained as an astronomer - he gave up a (un)promising career in the sciences to make music and write for a living. The music didn't get too far but he's still writing.
