The German Historical Museum displays rotating exhibitions that offer insight into the history of Germany. It was founded in 1987, the 750th anniversary of Berlin.
One of the oldest buildings on Unter den Linden, the Zeughaus, has more than 7,000 objects on German history in images and artifacts, providing a unique overview of German history. The public Reference Library has an extensive department of old and valuable prints, and its Picture Exhibition has over 500,000 photographs on German and European history.
