THE DELPHI

One hidden jewel tucked far away from public view is the Delphi Stummfilmkino Berlin. If you take the S-Bahn to the north end of the city, you will find this time warp to the flapper era. The Delphi (not to be confused with the Delphi film theatre in the center of the city) opened in 1929 with live stage shows and orchestra concertos. They closed in 1959 but survived WWII, only to be used as storage during DDR times. It finally reopened when a young couple found the space a few years ago, turning it into a multi-purpose venue. It remains a hotspot of mystery and wonder.
