There’s a reason Taci’s Beyti is rated tops for Turkish food, the meals here are amazingly delicious. Located on a quiet stretch of Coney Island Avenue, it’s far enough from Manhattan not to be overrun by hipsters. The atmosphere is that of an upscale banquet hall and the prices are very reasonable: It’s totally possible to get a complete meal for $20 or less. If you go, definitely try the Iskender Kebab, a mouthwatering, tender, perfectly seasoned lamb smothered in Italian-style tomato sauce and yogurt dip, with warm pita pieces baked in. If you are not familiar with Turkish food, their menu provides a perfect introduction. If you are familiar with it, like I am, then you will recognize how superior this place is to other Turkish restaurants out there.
