DETROIT WATER ICE FACTORY

Treat yourself to dessert that is not only delicious but serves a purpose. That’s what you’ll find in the Detroit Water Ice Factory located on the ground floor of the former Compuware building. This sweet spot was opened by long time friend of the city, Mitch Album. In addition to writing for the Detroit Free Press for over 30 years and penning the best selling novel, Tuesdays With Morrie, Album is an active philanthropist in the city. This delicious dessert is not ice cream or sorbet, but more like a light, refreshing version of Italian Ice. It comes in 17 Motown inspired flavors and 100% of the proceeds go to Album’s charity S.A.Y. (Super All Year) Detroit which helps the areas neediest citizens. Motown and The Mints is delicious but sample as much as you want to decide on your favorite. Hashtag #niceicebaby and post a picture to appear on their in-house social board.
