Why should we visit Bangkok?
In Bangkok, you can sip cocktails at a skyscraper-topping bar, wander ancient temples, shop for luxury brands at gleaming mega malls, and eat incredible food on the side of the road for less than the price of a cappuccino. It also has more massage parlors than you can shake a stick at.
Summed up, it’s a city full of contradictions. It’s crazy, exhilarating, bewildering and exhausting — but never, ever dull.
Local Customs:
Bangkok is a city that loves to eat and street food culture is a huge part of life here. Many locals choose to eat out rather than cook at home. So you’ll often find people crowding around hawker stands before work to grab breakfast on the go, tucking into a bowl of noodles on the street for lunch and then picking up take-home food from the busy markets in the evening.
Where do the locals hang out?
A lot of the locals hang out in Lumphini Park. There aren’t many green spaces in Bangkok so Lumphini offers a rare escape. Some people come just to sit and relax, but it’s also popular with runners and in the mornings you’ll see local residents practicing Tai Chi.
