Available as a package with the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas is a spectacular look at ocean life and the fishing industry that Louisiana thrives on. Located on the Mississippi, the aquarium not only showcases but allows visitors to touch string-rays and parakeets. The 400,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico exhibit houses an impressive mix of sharks, stingrays, and sea turtles. Beyond the tank, discover what makes Louisiana’s seafood industry thrive at the “Geaux Fish” exhibit. Don’t forget to visit the otters! They are extremely playful and will follow you around their exhibit if they like you.
