What’s unique about San Francisco?

San Francisco and the Bay Area, in general, has something for everyone. It is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors. There is an abundance of hikes and trails. You can often find people biking, walking or doing exercise classes. The food is some of the best in the world. There is a range of all different types and not to mention amazing wine bars thanks to our very popular and beautiful neighbor, Napa. Food trucks are also common along the streets downtown or in the more neighborhood-esque communities on the weekends.

Nightlife options are plentiful with a large young adult community. You can often times on the weekends find parks full of casual BBQ’s, picnics, and sporting games. The city offers a rich history with Alcatraz as a main view of the Bay and the Presidio. There are aquariums, museums, and festivals often. Outside Lands music festival is every year with tons of smaller venues in the city and surrounding it.

If you love sports, the Giants are the local sweethearts and there is a strong loyalty to the 49ers as well as the Warriors. Aside from Napa being a hop, skip and a jump away, Lake Tahoe, Half Moon Bay, Monterey and Santa Cruz are all within driving distance. If the performing arts are for you, there are Broadway caliber musicals, operas, and ballets as well as dance, culinary and art classes.

One of the best parts about the city is the start-up culture that so many residents are a part of. There are always new ideas, innovative minds and interesting people to meet that come from all over the world. The diversity is refreshing, exciting and the possibilities are endless.

The Bay Area is home to the leading technology companies of the world such as Google, Apple, Twitter, etc., and there is a definite innovative influence that can be felt in the culture from it.

an Francisco is a place that will spark all of your senses and interests. There are so many wonderful things to share!

Local Customs:

There are so many events and festivals, including the Union Street Festival, Off The Grid, Outside Lands, and Bay to Breakers. There are also countless local marathons and events to get involved in. There are farmers markets and flea markets and essentially there is always something new to explore. Whatever strikes your fancy, there is something for you.

As you may know, California is also known to have “health nut” communities. So, you will often times find locals doing activities, participating in different work out classes, or going for scenic walks with a green juice in hand. There are a lot of hikes and trails outside of the city as well including Mount Tamalpais and Half Moon Bay.

Where do the locals hangout?

The locals can be found at Fort Mason, Golden Gate Park, Washington Square Park or Dolores Park. All of these places have phenomenal views and offer an excellent place to play, meet with friends, picnic, relax or read.

North Beach, the Mission, the Marina, Fillmore Street, Polk Street and the Embarcadero are some streets and places to definitely explore. There is always some event going on in these neighborhoods and are all worth exploring.
